Warning Description: Fire Weather Warning

Warning Date: 4:10 am MST on May 9, 2008

WarningSum:...Red Flag Warning Remains In Effect From 11 Am This Morning To
8 Pm Mst This Evening For Elevations Below 6500 Feet Due To Strong
Winds And Low Relative Humidities...

Warning Message:Red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am this morning to 8
PM MST this evening for elevations below 6500 feet due to strong
winds and low relative humidities.
An approaching low pressure system will strengthen pressure
gradients across northern Arizona today. This will result in
widespread strong southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 35 mph. Additionally...relative humidity values will fall
below 15 percent by late morning for most locations below
6000 feet...combining with the winds to create red flag
conditions.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will during the warning period. A
combination of strong winds and low relative humidities will
create explosive fire growth potential.
Please notify field crews of this red flag warning.
