Construction is Underway on PAWS Clinic On Monday, February
28, 2005, construction began on the Humane Society of the White Mountains' PAWS
Clinic and is expected to be complete in a month. The Humane Society would like
to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who contributed to this
project, with a special thanks to local businesses, Foxworth Galbraith for the
building materials and to the Eden Company for construction. Without the
support of our community, we would not have been able to accomplish this
goal.
- 16 - Greer Fishing Derby
Kick-off on Saturday April
16, 2005 8:00 AM at the GREER LODGE ponds. Your host Bob Hirsch and some special
guests will be providing fishing tips and instructions. Derby entry fee for
this year is $5.00. The derby will run from 4/16/05 to 5/14/05. Entrants will
be eligible to win weekly awards for the largest fish in four categories; Men
(18 and over), Women (18 and over), Youth (13-18) and Youth (12 and under).
Their will also be an overall trophy. All entrants will be eligible for the end
of Derby drawings for a variety of prizes. (All Arizona Game and Fish rules and
regulations apply. The Tin Star Trading Post or anyone else involved in the
running of this derby is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or loss of
property by any participant. Participation is voluntary and does not exclude
anyone from obtaining the proper licenses or permits needed to legally fish in
the area. All prize winners must make arrangements to pick-up their awards or
prizes within a reasonable time frame following the conclusion of the
derby.)

Independence Day events ! This year's theme is "A SALUTE TO OUR TROOPS

3rd, 2005. The highlight of the weekend is our wonderful nighttime fireworks
display, considered one of the best in Northern Arizona.Events will kick-off
with our annual parade at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 2nd. The parade route
will be along Highway 260 between Forest Park Drive and Tall Timbers County
Park. Detour will be down Highway 277 to Mogollon Drive then back to Highway
260.

& 10, 2005 The Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 18th
Annual Native American Art Festival July 9 10, 2005 at Blue Ridge
Elementary School. More than 80 of the Southwests finest American Indian
artists will display and sell their handmade jewelry, paintings, rugs and other
authentic Indian artwork. This is a juried event (only handmade items allowed).
The original artist must be present. Hours are 9 to 5 pm Saturday and 9 to 4 pm
Sunday.

AM Auction Noon - 5 PM A Native American Art Auction hosted by the Friends of
Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site, Inc. at Hubbell Trading Post
National Historic Site will take place on Saturday, August 27 in Ganado,
Arizona. The auction will include over 400 items, both contemporary and antique
Navajo weavings, Pueblo Katsina dolls, pottery, paintings, carvings and
baskets. Preview: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Auction begins at noon,
mountain-daylight saving time. Hubbell is the same time as New Mexico, one hour
later than the rest of Arizona. (When Ganado is 9 AM, Flagstaff is 8 AM). The
auction is held in a large tent at the National Park Service's Hubbell Trading
Post National Historic Site in Ganado, Arizona on Hwy. 264,1/2 mile west of
Hwy. 191. In addition to the auction arts and crafts, food booths and vendors
will be available for your enjoyment. Arts and crafts and food vendors may rent
a booth space for $20 and set up the morning of the auction. Vendors must bring
their own table and chairs and food handling permit if selling food. Artists
may register their items for auction from August 22- 26, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at
