Old Guardhouse

Circa 1876
History: The
first guardhouse on the post was built of logs and located immediately south of
the present ruins of the 1890 barracks. In 1876, the original guardhouse was
replaced by one of stone on the same site, which still stands today. This is
the second oldest building on post. By 1890 a new guardhouse was erected
further east to allow for construction of the barracks. It is to the 1876
guardhouse that the above Building Condition/Summary section refers.
