Parks and Recreation
Department
 The Parks and
Recreation Department consists of four full time staff members, including a
Director, Recreation Specialist, Park Manager, and Maintenance Worker. The
Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of Town Parks,
Cooperation with the TRACKS organization for the
many multi-use trail systems in the White Mountains, recreational programming
for all ages, holiday and seasonal special events. Pinetop/Lakeside also has a
new city park, the Mountain Meadows Recreation Complex that everyone should
enjoy.

Additionally, sports activities such as adult softball, volleyball,
and basketball are available. Remember to check your web sight, local
newspapers and radio, for updates as programs frequently change dependent upon
the requests from the community.
 The Parks and
Recreation Department is constantly in the process of developing new and
interesting programs for this community. The difficulties are securing
instructors and educating the public about what is offered. Many residents and
visitors are unaware of what is available and what is possible. The Department
offers a chance to pursue interest as well as opportunities to meet people.
If you
have a special interest/hobby/skill, and would like to teach a class, contact
the Department. An information sheet will be sent to you which enables you to
be a temporary Town employee with an 80-20 split for financial remuneration
($20% to the Town for paperwork, advertisement, management and facility
expenses).
