Dave Brown, biologist, Arizona State University professor and author, will present an overview of the Department's existence from its early beginnings and will summarize some of the state's key wildlife issues occurring over the past one hundred years. Learn Dutch oven cooking basics in this six-hour, hands-on class led by award-winning husband and wife team Russ and Susan Richins. Class covers Dutch oven types; accessories; care and use; cooking techniques; and heat and temperature management. Participants prepare bread from scratch and either a main dish, side dish or dessert. You do all the cooking, plus sampling of everyone else's products. All supplies are provided, including a recipe handout. Program cost is $45 to cover supplies, and you must preregister at the Pinetop Game & Fish Office. Class size is limited to 16; with minimum participant age of 16.

Terry Johnson, the Department's endangered species coordinator, will discuss a half century of Department effort to restore and recover endangered species, emphasizing Apache and Gila trout, black-footed ferret, Sonoran pronghorn, bald eagle, condor, jaguar, ocelot, thick-billed parrot and Mexican wolf. Causes of imperilment and challenges in conservation of rare species occurring across a variety of land ownership and management jurisdictions will be presented. This will be a great program to attend. Starts at 6:00 p.m. No admission charge. Located at the Pinetop Game & Fish Department in Pinetop.
