High Country Hummers" Festival
   
Located at Sipe White Moutain Wildlife Area south of Eagar. From 8:00 a.m. - Noon. Free to the public. This is a unique opportunity for people to get up close and learn about Arizona's colorful forest hummingbirds. Sheri Williamson, one of the nation's foremost experts on hummingbirds, will lead a capture and bird-banding event that is a one-of-a-kind program. There are also exhibits featuring live hawks and owls, and White Mountain Audubon will lead a "birding basics" program. Breakfast and lunch concessions are available. Activities are outdoors; dress accordingly. It's a good idea to bring a camera. Pets are discouraged.

Basic Dutch Oven Cooking Workshop

Learn Dutch oven cooking basics in this six-hour, hands-on class led by award-winning husband and wife team Russ and Susan Richins. Class covers Dutch oven types; accessories; care and use; cooking techniques; and heat and temperature management. Participants prepare bread from scratch and either a main dish, side dish or dessert. You do all the cooking, plus sampling of everyone else's products. All supplies are provided, including a recipe handout. Program cost is $45 to cover supplies, and you must preregister at the Pinetop Game & Fish Office. Class size is limited to 16; with minimum participant age of 16.
