What Is Disc Golf ?
Disc Golf is one to the worlds fastest growing sports over 1,000 courses in the U.S. and a new course being added almost every week. Most of the Disc Golf Courses are installed in community Parks. A Frisbee Disc Golf Course in Pinetop-Lakeside benefits our community with the recreational activities for our local citizens, students especially, as well as creating another outdoor recreational facility and attraction for our visitors.

How is Disc Golf Played?
Disc Golf is played like regular golf except you throw a Frisbee "DISC" instead of hitting a ball, the holes are much shorter as a typical hole would be about 300 feet. This Sport offers the challenges of golf with drives, approach shots, and puts. The winner of the round is the one with the fewest # of throws. Unlike golf this sport is better suited and fun for all ages and budgets, the cost for play is free other than purchasing 1 Frisbee for about $8 to $15.

Who Plays Disc Golf?
Disc Golf can be played from school age to old age, making it one of the greatest lifetime fitness sports available. Specially able and disabled participate, giving them the opportunity to take part in mainstream activity. Because disc golf is so easy to learn, no one is excluded. Players merely match their pace to their capabilities, and proceed from there. The ongoing fitness boom finds more and more people taking up recreational activities in an effort to improve health and quality of life. Disc golf provides upper and lower body conditioning, aerobic exercise, and promotes a combination of physical and mental abilities that allow very little risk of physical injury. Concentration skills increase by mastering shots and negotiating obstacles. Players of limited fitness levels can start slowly and gradually increase their level of play as fitness improves.
