  The Mogollon Benefit Jamboree
Country/country rock band Mogollon started out in Overgaard Arizona in 1979 and has since been successful all over North America. Band founders Duane Moore and George Brunson, grew up in Overgaard and their folks and families still live there to this day. The forest fires that Arizona experienced have been devastating to personal and real property of those who make their homes on the Mogollon Rim. George and Duane have felt the pain of those who lost their homes to the great fire. Fortunately for our folks, their homes were spared. Some of their friends and neighbors did not fare so well -- some lost everything. Although most had fire insurance to help offset their loss as there were many who did not have insurance. Mogollon will be headlining an all day fundraiser entitled “The Mogollon Benefit Jamboree” on August 10th, 2002. The event will be held at Bison Ranch in Overgaard, Arizona. This location was chosen for several reasons. First, it is thought to hold the event as close to “Ground Zero” as possible so that those who attend can actually get an up close view of just how devastating the fire really was. Secondly, Overgaard is the hometown of the Mogollon band. Furthermore, there are so many around the area that had their homes and property spared by the fire that want to help out their neighbors who weren't so lucky. Event Details... The Mogollon Benefit Jamboree will start at 9:00 AM and finish up with Mogollon concerts at 1 and 4 p.m. Everything should wrap up around 8:00 PM. There will be a $5 donation for entrance into the event. The Jamboree will consist of various musical groups on the main stage as well as food and beverage vendors, raffles, kid attractions, etc. All proceeds raised at the event will go toward those who did not have fire insurance and lost their homes to the fire in the Heber/Overgaard area. If you would like to contribute or for more information please contact Duane Moore or visit www.mogollonband.com Now is the time for all Arizonan’s to come together and help each other.
