07 - 25 - 07 ARIZONA RADIO WILDLAND FIRE USE (175 acres) is burning on the Williams Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest, approximately 3 miles north of I-40 in Pittman Valley. The Radio WFU was started by lightning on July 16th. Smoke is visible from State Highway 64 and I-40.

The fire is showing low to moderate fire behavior with no additonal spread anticipated. Crews continue mopping up and rehabbing fireline and other areas affected by fire suppression.
BARGAMAN WILDLAND FIRE USE (220 acres) was started by lightning on Saturday and is burning in Coconino National Forest 30 miles south of Flagstaff. BARGAMAN is being managed as "wildland fire use,"
CHITTY (14,200 acres, 95% contained) is 6 miles SW of Hannagan Meadow in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Crews are patrolling the line and mopping up. Transition to the forest is scheduled for Monday.
OLD GLORY WILDLAND FIRE USE (385 acres) is 10 miles S of Arivaca in Coronado National Forest. Lightning-caused, OLD GLORY is burning in desert grass, brush, oak, and manzanita and is being managed as "wildland fire use"
ALAMBRE (7,267 acres, 95% contained) is burning on the Tohono O'odham Reservation about 50 miles SW of Tucson and 2 miles south of Kitt Peak National Observatory.

The largest of these lightning-caused fires are HL (10,130 acres), WOODLAND (8,000 acres), GRANITE (1,918 acres), LOCO (1,604 acres), CANYON (1,093 acres), TEN (1,031 acres), RAILROAD (556 acres), ASPEN (529 acres), WAHOO (344 acres), and LAKE (314 acres).

07 - 14 - 07 ARIZONA BLACK ROCK GULCH (22,443 acres, 90% contained) is burning in Arizona's NW corner in the Bureau of Land Management's Arizona Strip District some 20 miles SW of St. George, Utah.
SLIDE FIRE (6,000 acres, 100% contained) is 20 miles SE of Fredonia and 15 miles W of Jacob Lake in Kaibab National Forest. The fire is inactive and is being monitored.
OAK RIDGE #3 (2,780 acres, 100% contained) is 6-7 miles E of the Klagetoh community north of Ganado on the Navajo Reservation.
BIRDIE (4,945 acres, 90% contained) is burning in Coconino National Forest 12 miles S of Flagstaff. The fire area received rain yesterday. Crews continue holding the line, mopping up, and rehabilitating firelines and other area affected by fire suppression. The evacuation order has been lifted for Long Park, Bear Park, and Bert Lee Park. Residents and property owners will be permitted entry, but the area remains closed to non-residents.
BARGAMAN WILDLAND FIRE USE (180 acres) was started by lightning on Saturday and is burning in Coconino National Forest 30 miles south of Flagstaff. BARGAMAN is being managed as "wildland fire use," the first such fire for Coconino National Forest. The fire poses no major concerns for the area and is burning within a predetermined "maximum manageable area" of 92,000 acres.
CHITTY (14,200 acres, 95% contained) is 6 miles SW of Hannagan Meadow in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Crews are patrolling the line and mopping up. The area received good rain yesterday. Type 3 Incident Commander Chris Peterson is assigned, also 3 Type 2 crews, 1 helicopter, 1 engine, 1 dozer, 17 overhead, 59 total personnel.
OLD GLORY WILDLAND FIRE USE (385 acres) is 10 miles S of Arivaca in Coronado National Forest. Lightning-caused, OLD GLORY is burning in desert grass, brush, oak, and manzanita and is being managed as "wildland fire use" to achieve specific resource objectives in the area. ALAMBRE (7,267 acres, 95% contained) is burning on the Tohono O'odham Reservation about 50 miles SW of Tucson and 2 miles south of Kitt Peak National Observatory. Crews contnue chipping and cleaning up around observatory structures.

07 - 14 - 07 NEW MEXICO EIGHT BALL (988 acres, 20% contained) is burning along I-10 and E of Lordsburg in New Mexico State Forestry's Socorro District. The fire is partially contained by areas burned earlier this summer.
ANDERSON (640 acres, 100% contained) is 11 miles SW of Lovington in New Mexico State Forestry's Capitan District. This human-caused fire is human-caused and was started July 11.

The fire is being monitored from the air and lookouts. On-scene cabin protection continues.

HURTADO (275 acres) is burning in Santa Fe National Forest 15 miles SE of Pecos.

07 - 08 - 07 ARIZONA ALAMBRE (300-400 acres) is burning on the Tohono O'odham Reservation about 50 miles SW of Tucson and 2 miles south of Kitt Peak National Observatory. Heavy air tankers have been working the fire.
BIRDIE (900 acres, 0% contained) was started by lightning in Coconino National Forest 12 miles S of Flagstaff. BIRDIE poses potential threat to homes, other structures, a campground, and Mormon Lake Village.
SLIDE FIRE (6,000 acres, 20% contained) was started by lightning yesterday afternoon. It's burning 20 miles SE of Fredonia and 15 miles W of Jacob Lake in Kaibab National Forest. The fire area is bordered by Forest Road 235 to the N and W, Forest Road 236 to the S, and Forest Roads 423 and 427 to the E.
OAK RIDGE #3 (2,780 acres, 95% contained) is 6-7 miles E of the Klagetoh community north of Ganado on the Navajo Reservation.
CHITTY (14,200 acres, 70% contained) is 6 miles SW of Hannagan Meadow in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Crews are patrolling the line and mopping up.
SQUAW (2,800 acres) is burning SE of Rose Peak in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Lightning started the fire which has been burning actively. No structures are threatened, although a cabin on private land lies 1.5 miles north.
LAMPHERE (1,200 acres) is burning on the east side of Blue Mountain in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests' Blue Range Primitive Area.
OLD GLORY (130 acres, 0% contained) is 10 miles S of Arivaca in Coronado National Forest. Lightning-caused, OLD GLORY is burning in desert grass, brush, oak, and manzanita. Today, aerial and ground reconnaissance will be conducted.

07 - 08 - 07 NEW MEXICO RATTLESNAKE (203 acres, 95% contained) is 10 miles east of Cedar Hill in New Mexico State Forestry's Chama District.
HURTADO (270 acres) is burning in Santa Fe National Forest 15 miles SE of Pecos.
PATTERSON (150 acres) is 20 miles SW of the Very Large Array (the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and being managed as "wildland fire use."
Ten large fires are burning in Gila National Forest - HL (10,115 acres), WOODLAND (8,000 acres), GRANITE (1,918 acres), LOCO (1,604 acres), CANYON (1,093 acres), TEN (1,031 acres), RAILROAD (556 acres), ASPEN (529 acres), WAHOO (344 acres), and LAKE (314 acres). All 10 fires were started by lightning and are being managed as "wildland fire use".
